Well this saturday I messed up on the start time of the BPT and I did not get there til late. It's too bad too because I was looking forward to testing me Omaha skills. I ended up coming in with about 1300 in chips left and when my blind came around I had A345 or something like that. I got raised into so I went all in. He called with a pair of 10s I think and some other cards which made it a mediocre at best holding for him. I ended up getting a 2 and a 5 plus a flush draw but nothing hit for me and I was out. I did not get a chance to watch the final table this time but here is the rankings for everyone at the final table.

I have not been doing very well in the last couple tourneys so I need to get some practice in which I have not been doing too often because of a new trading job which takes up a lot of my time.

Well I have not had time to post about last weeks BPT tourney and for that matter I have not played any poker either. I have started a new job and it is taking up all of my time. I work all day and have to research for the next day and after that I am too tired for anything else. Well Here is what happened. I was doing pretty well up to about 3500 or so. I noticed that iyatoni had been very aggressive and in the short stack he moved all in I called with pocket 8s. He shows AQ and the 8s hold til the end when the ace falls on the river cuttine my stack in half. Couple hands later he raises my blind I have K10 so I call. Flop comes down with a k and I think it was two nines. Turn was blank then river gave another nine giving me kings full. I make a move all in because I am hurt already so I need chips and he calls to show pocket aces knocking me out.

The final table was set when Osssss lost to brunsie's two pair 8s and 5s. CawtBluffin had a big lead going in to the final table. Royalroynr1 is the first knocked out at the final table when his A7 runs into the AK of DavidMalek who got the king on the flop and never had a worry . ViezeMan last weeks bubble was next to leave. Kufolem's pocket Kings hold against Hacksaws A10 to send him packing in 8th. Kufolem is now about even with Cawtbluffin for the lead. Brunsie is then knocked out by kufolem again with Kings. In a strange hand the two chip leaders Cawtbluffin and elc3105 go all in pre flop and both have pocket aces and end up splitting the pot. Cawtbluffin then takes out brodoughno with kings. Kings seemed to be doing the trick this tourney. DavidMalek was then knocked out by the aces of Chatuba. Next Chatuba gets knocked when his A2 runs in to kufolem's AQ giving a scare of a double up when the board gives him two pair A2 but two tens on the turn and river give kufolem the two pair with the better kicker.

Down to the final three all three players elc3105, kufolem, and Cawtbluffin are all about even in chips. Elc gets beat up early getting too tight for this position in the tournament. He does get a doulbe up after this but ends up out in third. Now two previous champs from the last season of BPT are up against eachother going for a second title. In the end both go all in preflop and the AQ of kufolem catches an ace to knock out the pocket 6s of Cawtbluffin.

I wish I had done better because this sets me way off pace to qualify for the final event. I hope to do well in tomorrows tourney when we try some PL omaha HL. Good luck everyone who will play.

So today was another round of the PSO poker league. I played really bad at the start. First I tried to check raise a pair of pocket queens in early position of course I got no raise and saw the flop with about 5 other people. Flop is fairly safe only with a flush draw so I put in a bet. I then get called by a couple other people figure one for the draw one for the high pair jacks. Turn a jack hits. I check and get bet into but I make a call river is the spade. Now I know I am beat by someone because they either had to have a jack or at least a flush draw. Big bet I fold other guy calls sure enough nut flush and i figure the other guy had a jack but can't be sure. That was one good thing I was able to fold.

Second really bad hand I have ace 2 suited and the flop comes 35Q with two hearts. I get bet into here is where I made the mistake of just a call. I know I am gonna get reraised on the turn all in so here I should either fold or push all in and maybe get a fold and if I get a call I am most likely up in the hand against a pair of Qs with any heart for a flush 4 for a straight and A for a top pair would win the hand. I call turn is another Q and sure enough the other guy goes all in as he is the short stack. I make a bad call and he shows Q10 and fills up with a 10 on the river. I was down to 400-500 chips. Next hand or maybe a couple later I get raised with pocket 4s and I push all in. Other guy calls me and shows KQ. I hit a 4 and he gets a Q but my set holds up to win. I then later get a couple hundred more chips from the same guy when I have pocket 6s and he raised again and I pushed all in. He didnt call that time.

Here is the bad hand I was trying to hit fold but when the same guy who had tried to take out my pocket 4s goes all in I accidentally called with 78 I think it was and he shows AJ. I was lucky not to be dominated and got a pair which held up to take him out now. This actually gives me a some good chips. This is kind of when I smacked myself and asked what I was doing and started playing better. Get into a couple pots and take some small ones. I limp with AK clubs and everyone folds to the BB who goes all in I make the call and he has AQ. I hit a king and two clubs on the flop to give him no direct outs and the turn is another club to take any hope of runner runner away. So now I am playing good poker I feel. Little bit later I am dealt AA and the big stack at th table raises me 300 with the blinds 100. I bump it up to 900 and he puts me all in an of course I instacall. He shows 88. Flop gives him the open ended straight draw and I dont even need to look to know that it is over. Sure enough turn gives the straight with my only hope is an 8 which doesn't come and I am done. I got a sorry but that hardly helps especially when that hand would have put me into second place with almost 6000 chips. I have a feeling I could have at least gotten to the final table because I was playing good the last couple rounds but I guess it was punishment for living through my bad play earlier.

Well the 3rd event for the BPT is this saturday and I hope for a big finish as I am on the bubble to qualify for the final event as of right now after finishing in 6th in the last event. Every one who has not joined yet do so by clicking the banner at the top of this page. They are run a lot better this time around and it is pretty fun.

Today before I played in the PSO tourney I decided to warm up with a couple NL sngs on stars because I have a bonus I am clearing there anyway. I have found in the past that this gives my game a little tune up before a big tourney. The first tournament started going bad. I had hit top pair with flush and inside straight draw on the flop. So I bet get raised, I reraise and the other guy puts in the rest of his chips. He turns over a set. I don't get any of my outs and I am down to 300 chips as he had been the low stack at the table so I had some chips left but not many. I start putting my chips in whenever I see the opportunity to steal and I get up to 800 chips just on steals and no double ups. Surprising because usually players at this level are not afraid to call because of the 5 dollar buy in. Anyway I then get dealt Kings in the BB. A player from middle position bets and I reraise he calls. I put in the rest on a safe flop he calls and shows no pair and an AJ. My kings hold up to win and I am now doing pretty decent. I later double up again with a flush and get to chip leader. We get down to 4 players and on guy is really short stacked but the other players were afraid to call him fore example. Blinds are 200-400 and he has 600 some odd chips. I would raise all in with my modest holdings of like K2 and almost did because the guy in the SB who was about even with me kept folding to this low stack almost as if trying to keep him alive. I fold though because I don't want to get into it with him if he does get in. Of course they fold in the SB. The next hand the SB doubles up and now has some chips. The low stack now takes some chips off of the guy afraid to get into any action previous and he now is the low stack as well he should have been. He ends up getting eliminated and the other three of us are in the money. I start taking pots eliminate one of the players and I am a dominating chip leader going into heads up. The other player mostly is folding but then starts going all in on a couple hands and I fold because of bad hands. I get A9 I raise and he puts the rest of his money in and I call. He turns over KJ. I flop an ace and by the turn he is drawing dead and I take a first place after being down to 300 out of 1500 chips.

Second tourney. This is where my day starts with suck out after suck out. First there is a top pair beaten by a flush draw. Later same guy gets me on an inside straight draw. Then again two pair is beat by another flush draw. I still keep taking chips down to 4 people it is me and another guy fighting for the last spot. He doubles up and I am now short stacked with a little over 2000 chips. I steal some hands successfully but then when on the button with A3 I get caught and reraised back all in. I have to call at this point and the other guy has AJ. Flop comes 866. Not good but not horrible either, if an 8 falls we split. Even better a 3 hits for me and for once I am gonna suck out but wait river is an Ace and I am done because his two pair has the better kicker. Even the hands I suck out on get sucked out on WTF.

Now time for the PSO tourney. This isn't any better. My steals did not get respect, and my hands still got rivered over and over. Beat by flushes and straight draws, same old story. Last hand still early but I have no chips. I get in with A8 of diamonds. Flop has one diamond and an 8 high. I check because it had been raised preflop and am hoping the raiser will try at it again in which case I put in the remainder of my chips if it isn't all of them. He checks but the other guy in the pot takes his stab at it with a bet putting me all in I call. Guy shows AJ. Turn is a diamond no help to him. He has two outs because the ace gives me two pair and the jack of diamonds gives me the nut flush. Guess what falls on the river just putting a stamp on this suck out of a night. Yes a non diamond jack. I have not had a good showing yet at any of the pso events and so it doesn't look good for making the final prizes but it is still juicy enough to play anyway. The first tourney I got a 20 dollar bounty for knocking out Kugr so I am actually up 3.50 so far this league (20-3*$5.50 buy ins=3.50). One thing I noticed was that the league actually increased in the number of players from the last league which is a first for the leagues I have played.

Well the leaderboard for the BPT is up and thanks to my finish last week I have ended up right on the bubble at this point to get into the final 20 for the finale. I forgot to mention one thing last week. I am not sure but I believe that I never left my original table from the start to the final table. Just an interesting side note. The one bad thing about this is the points are not scored all off the tourneys. Each of the BPT hosts gets first place points for their tourney they host. Making it pretty hard to over come them when they get those points plus where ever they finish in the tourney point wise. This would make it hard for any of the hosts to the 6 events to not make the final event taking away 6 spots for people like me trying to get in on the final. Now it is not impossible to overcome but it does make it hard. One of the blogs I was reading Irongirls blog talked about how they were going to be a host and want to do a change up from NL holdem and instead going with PL Omaha H/L. This would be great as I have been playing a lot of small sngs of PL Omaha H/L and have been doing really well. Although I would expect to have a much better play from the BPT it would be a cool change. Well here is the updated standings from the BPT hopefully they will change after the next event to have my name in bold.

Anyone that has not joined yet I strongly suggest you do. It is over 25000 in prizes and only a little over 70 people have participated in each of the tourneys. Look forward to seeing you there.

Blog Poker Tour event #2

Well today was the second BPT event. I pretty much did opposite of what I did last event. Last event I was one of the first people knocked out. This event I was in the chip lead early and kept building even after that. Once I was at about 12,000 chips I hit a wall and stayed there a little bit. I went down to 10 K in chips. Anyway Even though I hit a stop sign I kept slowly increasing after awhile again and with 11 people left in the event I was in the small blind with one of the short stacks in the BB Viezman and everyone folds to me. I attempt to steal figuring that if I call he is going to go all in with just about anything as he has done this a lot so I might be able to take it down otherwise the blinds are too big for me to fold this hand anyway. He ends up calling I have J8 to his pocket 8s. I hit a jack on the turn and the final table is set. With purechoas in the lead and I after all of this was in second with the next few people really close behind.

First knock out is done by purechaos when his pocket nines hold up to eliminate elc3105. Natsdad doubles up with AQ against KQ with a Q on the flop and is now the chip leader. Couple hands later Natsdad ends up taking out the previous chip leader purechaos when her Ax heart flush beat a Qx heart flush. Now Natsdad has a huge chip lead over the rest of the table. I then take out Quackpot who was a short stack went all in while I was in the BB and didn't have a whole lot but too good of odds forced the call due to such a short stack and I win. Porkrind333 ends up getting knocked out shortly after that I missed what with though. I then start getting chunks of my stack taken out and I am now only with around 10 K in chips and decide to try to take the pot with first in vigorous and an ace high but run into the pocket kings of damriver and his kings hold to knock me out him just slightly edging me in chip count. damnriver next takes out brodoughno when his AK holds up against Ax for a preflop all in. Damriver on a roll takes out booboy119543 when he catches a flush.

The final three are set with Natsdad in the lead with around 77k in chips damnriver with around 55k and iyatoni with only 10k in chips. A few hands in iyatoni doubles up and has 26k in chips against natsdad. Iyatoni stays aggressive and takes some smaller pots to get up to 35k. Damriver gets knocked out when his AK catches a King against natsdads pocket 9s but the board gives natsdad a straight on the river.

Down to two now Iyatoni doubles up with a pair of aces on the flop to natsdad middle pair of 3s and now has the chip lead after looking so bleak throughout the final table. Iyatoni loses the chip lead but takes it back with a decent sixth pot the next hand. Natsdad now doubles up with trip Qs vs a pair of 10s and regains a commanding chip lead of 113k to 30k in chips. Nats dad takes 10k off Iyatoni with trip twos. Then natsdad finishes it off with an ace high straight to win the tourney. Congrats to everyone making the final table I hope next time I can do a little better than 6th but I will take it without a doubt.

So yesterday was the first PSO league event. It was a lot of ups and downs with my stack. All the pso staff had bounties on them and I ended up having Kugr right next to me on my right. I decided that if I had a decent hand that I would try to knock him out if I had him stacked even if it wasn't something I would normally do. He raised I had AQ suited I reraise he calls flop comes three suited but I get top pair with a Q on the board so I raised him all in. He folds for a little bit we both at the same time talk about the bounty, him saying saying how he hates the bounty and me saying come here bounty. He then folds so I don't get a shot at his bounty. Later on he raised while I had pocket 6s. Now this would be a spot I would usually fold because I am not a big fan of middle pairs but I since it was Kugr I reraised him all in. He calls and shows pocket Kings. I turn the 6 and collect 20 dollars in bounty from PSO. Murph another guy with a bounty then is at my table and I start trying to chase after that but Scottwire gets to him first. Later I am getting short stacked to about 1200 chips with the blinds at 75 150 I think and Scottwire moves all in as he is just slightly higher stacked than I am and I call once again with pocket 6s and he shows A7 suited. The board ends up double paired both higher than my 6s and he gets it with the two pair and the ace kicker to knock me out. I don't know if I will be able to make this sundays event due to the bears game and I may be heading out to champaign afterward so I will have to see on that.
